October Roller Skating Practice 🎃🛼
Happy October, skaters! It’s officially spooky season, which means this month inside the Roll With Me Membership we’re learning choreography to Spooky Scary Skeletons! 🦴✨
Before we dive into this month’s focus, here’s a reminder: the membership is available on ThatNicoleFiore.com and on YouTube for just $14.99/month. You’ll get access to roller skating drills, skills, choreography, and more. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced skater, you’ll find lessons that meet you right where you’re at.
And if you're new here, hi! I’m Nicole Fiore, 4-time World Champion artistic roller skater, coach, and choreographer. Through my Roll With Me Membership, I teach skaters all over the world how to learn roller skating step by step, gain confidence, and have fun. In the Site Membership, everything is displayed on its own page and you can track your progress throughout each section! You can check out all of the drills here, skills here, and choreography here!
Each month I highlight a few roller skating drills, skills, and choreography routines for you to focus on. Let’s dive into what to practice this September!
This month, I’m shaking things up! Instead of giving you a drill to focus on first, I want you to combine two essential roller skating skills:
Roller Skating Skill: Backward Cross Pulls
A foundational skill that every skater should know and practice. Backward cross pulls will help you build strength, balance, and confidence on your skates. They will also help you go into spins and jumps! Plus, they’re the setup for our brand new skill below!
Video length: 15 minutes, 58 seconds
Go to the video: Skills Page (backward skating section) [Link: Website, YouTube]
Roller Skating Skill: Inner Back to Outer Forward S-Step (entrance into a spin)
This brand-new skill is how you enter your spins with speed. Mastering this transition will give you more control and open the door to so many fun spin variations in your skating. The first half of it is a backward cross pull (which is why I want you to work on that first!)
Video length: 17 minutes, 01 seconds

Choreography: Spooky Scary Skeletons 👻
In honor of spooky season, we have spooky choreography! We have a beginner/ intermediate as well as advanced, but let me warn you…the Advanced is quick!
Beginner/Intermediate Routine:
Includes heel-toe manuals and heel manuals.
Totally customizable! Swap moves or simplify if you need to.
Fun, spooky, and perfect for building confidence!
Advanced Routine:
Faster tempo with forward pivots, heel-toe manuals, heel manuals, and quick rotations.
A great way to push yourself if you’re ready for a challenge.
💡 Remember: You can always modify the choreography. There are step-by-step skills tutorials in the membership to help you learn each move.
Beginner/ Intermediate video length: 15 minutes, 18 seconds [Link: Website, YouTube]
Advanced video length: 12 minutes, 18 seconds [Link: Website, YouTube]
