What to Practice This Month
June 2025
Happy June, friends!! ☀️
Summer is here, school is out, and it’s my birthday month! I'm excited for everything this summer is going to bring and I really look forward to skating with you!
Speaking of Summer, my Summer Roller Skating Essentials Course is here for a $19.99 one-time payment (yep, not a membership)!!! You can preview and get access to the course right here! This is a 7-day (a little less than 10 minutes per day), beginner-friendly course that you can do at your own pace.
If you’re new here, hello! My name is Nicole Fiore and I am a 4-time World Champion artistic roller skater, coach, and choreographer. I have been skating for my entire life and teaching for about 15 years. I created the Roll With Me Membership in 2020 and have been growing it ever since. It now has hundreds of videos to learn from, for all levels, from anywhere in the world…
Because there are so many videos to choose from, each month I give you a few things to focus on to help guide your practice! If you don’t have access already, you can get a membership at ThatNicoleFiore.com or on my YouTube Channel. Although both Memberships contain the same content, they are separate. With the Site Membership, everything is displayed on its own page and you can track your progress throughout each section! You can check out all of the drills here, skills here, and choreography here! Keep reading to see what I recommend for this month…Happy Skating ♥️
Drill: Abs (off-skates)
Starting with our drill, we are going to work on our abs this month 💪🏻 We use our core a lot when skating! This is a 9-minute off-skate drills class that I would love for you to do a few times throughout the month.
Video length: 8 minutes, 49 seconds

Skill: Heel Manual
For this month’s skill we are doing our heel manuals. Feel free to start here and then work your way through the different sections. Our heel manual is in our heel-toe section. There's also a heel-spin-heel skill that adds a rotation into the mix. This was one of my favorite tricks to do as a kid and it’s still super fun!
An important note to remember for your heel manual: make sure your hips stay back. This is super important to remember in almost everything you do on skates but especially on a heel manual.
Video length: 17 minutes, 36 seconds

Choreography: Fantasy
This month’s choreography is one of my favorites and will use that heel manual! Fantasy by Mariah Carey. I don't know about you but when I hear this song I am instantly transported to a skating session in the 90’s. There are a lot of different skills that go into this choreography. We do a heel-toe step, backward cross pulls, an assisted turn (using both feet) in the beg/int that advances to a one-foot turn in the advanced choreography. Choreography is created for practice. You don't need to be perfect at the skills - not even close. Take your time. There's always a Beginner/ Intermediate and an Advanced version to learn. Definitely start with the Beginner/ Intermediate even if you are an advanced skater.
The choreography videos are always a little bit longer just because it takes longer to teach it. I recommend spacing it out and learning bits and pieces throughout the month.
Please remember that skills and choreography may take longer than a month to learn and that's perfectly okay! I never put a time limit on learning and I don’t think you should either.
Beginner/ Intermediate video length: 53 minutes, 4 seconds [Link: Website, YouTube]
Advanced video length: 50 minutes, 54 seconds [Link: Website, YouTube]
Workshops, Lessons & Progress:
Tickets for June and July’s workshops are still available and we have a lot of fun things to work on together!!! Check out the workshop options here!
Make sure you send your progress to me throughout the month and especially throughout the year. I know that recording yourself can be a little scary, but I promise you that when you look back at your videos six months, a year, five years later, you are going to be amazed at how far you've come. All of the little things add up over time!
If you would like to submit your progress for our Community Progress Videos, submit your vertical video here.
