What We’re Practicing This December
Welcome to December!
This is truly one of my favorite seasons! Give me all the twinkly lights, baked treats, and time with the people I love. And yes… my roller skates!
This month, I’m sharing what I’ll be practicing, how you can stay motivated during the holidays, and why roller-skating classes and memberships make the BEST giftable experiences for anyone who’s craving joy, movement, and confidence on wheels.
Whether you’re here for inspiration, holiday shopping ideas, or new skating routines, December is a magical time to roll into something fun 🥰
If you're new here, hi! I’m Nicole Fiore, 4-time World Champion artistic roller skater, coach, and choreographer. Through my Membership and Courses (50% off now through 12/4 at 9AM PT), I teach skaters all over the world how to roller skate step by step, gain confidence, and have fun. I’m here for questions anytime! Please let me know if you want or need any help 🫶🏼
Each month I highlight a few videos for us to focus on. Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate, or advanced skater, you’ll find lessons that meet you right where you’re at. The most important thing is to have fun 🫶🏼 Let’s dive into this month!
December is one of the busiest months of the year. Between travel, events, holidays, shopping, and winter weather, most of us don’t have hours to dedicate to drilling new skills.
That’s why choreography is my go-to practice for this season. You can do it off-skates and with your friends. Added bonus: it’s fun!

Small Space? No Problem. Perfect At-Home Holiday Activity 🧑🏻🎄
You do NOT need a big space to enjoy these routines. My filming space is only about 10' x 6', and that’s more than enough.
Most skaters only need:
A yoga-mat-sized floor area
Socks or bare feet to learn the steps
Your skates for when you’re ready
This makes it an excellent:
Indoor winter activity
Holiday break project
Gift for people with or without a rink nearby
Fun tradition to do with family and friends
If you’ve been wanting a holiday activity that doesn’t require leaving the house, skating choreography is perfect!
Remember: Skating Should Be Fun (The Best Gift of All)
Whether you’re learning for fun or training at a competitive level, skating should bring you joy. During the holidays especially, I hope you give yourself permission to:
Let go of pressure
Move at your own pace
Focus on enjoyment over perfection
Try something new
Celebrate small wins
If you're in Southern California, we also have December workshop spots available in Huntington Beach - another great gift for someone who wants hands-on coaching or a fun activity while visiting for the holidays.
A Gentle Winter Wellness Reminder
I recently lost my voice after being sick (don’t worry, I feel fine now!), but it was a great reminder of how important winter care is.
Please make sure you're:
Resting
Hydrating
Nourishing your body
Staying warm
And giving yourself time to play
Your skates will still be there when you’re ready.
Make sure to send your progress to me throughout the month. I know that recording yourself can be a little scary, but I promise that when you look back at your videos six months, a year, five years from now, you are going to be amazed at how far you've come. All of the little things add up over time!
If you are practicing on Instagram, please tag me and #quadsociety! I love to see and share your progress! Lastly, don’t forget about the wonderful community on Discord. Everything is better with friends!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know if you would like more help. You can book in-person private lessons or online private lessons here!
